PDP Commiserate with the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde on the Death of Hon. Kehinde Ayoola.

Press Released by the state ruling party Yesterday 14/05/2020 and Signed by Engr Akeem Olatunji the Publicity Secretary of Oyo State PDP

Rt Honourable Kehinde Ayoola's Death, Shocking, Sad, One Loss Too Many

The Oyo state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received with a very rude shock the unfortunate news of late Commissioner For Environment And Natural Resources, Rt Hon Kehinde Ayoola who could be described as a gallant soldier, a dedicated and loyal party faithful, and a humane fellow to all that encountered him while he was alive.

Just when the PDP family in Oyo state was trying hard to get over the demise of late Chief Richard Akinjide at a ripe old age, who was one of the party's founders and a foremost legal luminary in Nigeria,  death struck again taking away one of the finest politician the state has produced.

We as a political party are in deep sober and mourning mood because late Hon Ayoola left us when his wealth of experience and versatility are greatly needed as the Governor continues to chart a new course for the state economic growth and development within the ambient of very scarce resources.

The intelligence and intellectual prowess of late Hon Ayoola led to his emergence as the first Speaker of Oyo state House of Assembly after the return of democracy to Nigeria in 1999.

He continued to fill one exalted public and party office within and outside the state including working with Engr Seyi Makinde as the Deputy Director General Seyi Makinde Campaign Organization prior to the 2019 governorship election in the state.

Late Kehinde Ayoola was always keenly interested in the development and progress of Oyo state without prejudice or discrimination of any kind.

He was always calm, friendly, and a good listener which are parts of the qualities that endeared him to so many politicians across party lines.

We are deeply sad and words could never be able to express the pain PDP family is going through across the length and breadth of Oyo state because his skills and qualities will be sorely missed forever, obviously his death justifies a philosophical saying that the wealthiest place on earth is the graveyard.

The entire PDP family in Oyo state deeply commiserate with the family of late Rt Honourable Kehinde Ayoola, his lovely and supportive wife and children, and we pray that God in His infinite mercies grant them fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

PDP as the ruling party particularly commiserate with the executive governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde, we believe that the Lord will strengthen him and grant him the willpower to manage the emotional pain the demise of his loyal and dedicated friend has brought upon us.

Oyo Assembly Passes Vote of Confidence on Governor Seyi Makinde and His Deputy

The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of the state, Engr Seyi Makinde and his deputy, Engr Rauf Olaniyan.

The confidence vote was passed at Tuesday’s plenary following a motion to that effect moved by member representing Lagelu State Constituency, Hon Akintunde Olajide and seconded by Hon Isiaka Kazeem of Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency.

This is coming on the heels of a report by a National Daily of a purported plot by the legislature to impeach the deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan.

The report alleged that a top Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde who was said to have masterminded the impeachment move had hosted some members of the State Assembly in a hotel to conclude the plan to remove the deputy.

The house in a unanimous resolution debunked the purported impeachment ploy and maintained that the said story concocted by the writer was a calculated attempt by the National daily and its journalist to misinform the general public and to also cause disaffection between the Oyo State House of Assembly and the executive arm of Government in the State led by Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Speaker, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin said the vote of confidence on the Governor and his deputy became necessary in view of the enviable achievements of Gov Makinde and his deputy as well as the robust working relationship and partnership which the Oyo State ninth Assembly is enjoying from the executive arm of Government.

He said there was never a time the lawmakers or some of them were lodged in any hotel anywhere in the state or outside to orchestrate a plan to impeach the deputy Governor and wondered where such unfounded rumor emanated from.

Hon Ogundoyin who used the medium to commend conventional journalists and online tabloids for informing the public of happenings around them however warned them against flouting the ethic of accuracy, truthfulness and objectivity which is the hallmark of the pen profession.

In their remarks, the deputy Speaker of the House, Hon Mohammed Fadeyi and member representing Iseyin / Itesiwaju, Hon Bamidele Adeola condemned in strong language the writer and publisher of the said story which they said was fabricated by enemies of good governance presently being experienced in Oyo State and advised journalists covering proceedings in the Assembly and others to always endeavor to cross-check their facts and report only the truth and nothing but the truth.

The majority Leader of the House, Hon Sanjo Onaolapo and the Minority Leader, Hon Asimiyu Alarape in their own comments commended the administration of Gov Seyi Makinde for its various people oriented policies and urged men of the media profession to always balance their stories and avoid spreading false and malicious stories so as not to deliberately set the state on fire.

They solicited their cooperation in the task of formulating laws and passing bills that will enhance the standard of living of the people and bring Government closer to the grassroot

Oyo State Head of Service’s son caught in ‘ghost job’ scandal screenshot for evidence in detail.

Ayobami Agboola, son of Oyo state Government Head of Service, Amidat Agboola ignited an uproar after his conversation with a social media user about a ‘ghost job’ came to light.

A  ‘ghost job’ is a common practice in state and federal civil service whereby names of non-workers widely known as ghost workers, are added into the workforce and used to receive illegal pay.

Ayobami’s role in the ‘ghost job’ scandal was made public after he and a former acquintance, Sulaimon Adesola got into an argument over the response of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to the Coronavirus pandemic in Oyo state.

While Ayobami insisted that Adesola’s criticism against Makinde’s administration was because he could not secure a “ghost job” under the government, Adesola fired back by stating it was the head of service’s son who promised to use his mother’s influence to secure him a slot.

The screenshots Adesola shared to back his claim compelled Ayobami into admitting that they had the conversation. The Head of Service’s son however denied being involved in a racketeering scheme and only egged him on because he was doing a pro bono work for him.

Below is the screenshot of their conversation

Oyo deputy governor outsmarts Governor Sayi Makinde, Despite The intensity Of Plot To Impeach Him.

Despite the intensity of the plot to remove the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, it appears a difficult task because most members of the state House of Assembly are with the Deputy Governor than Governor Seyi Makinde.

Early in the life of the administration, the lawmakers have had the ears and support of Olaniyan than the governor, including standing by some of them when in need. The legislators are angry that the governor has been allegedly disdainful of them.

When the lawmakers were hauled into a hotel by a top member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) to sell the idea of a likely impeachment of the Deputy Governor, most of them were busy with text and WhatsApp messages (on the spot), leaking reports on how the plot will be hatched. Olaniyan’s strategists were enjoying the game. It is obvious that any impeachment investment will go down the drain.

Notwithstanding, two confidants of the governor from Itesiwaju and Saki West are locked in a fierce battle to produce the successor to Olaniyan.
