41-year-old Ogbonna Nwankwo pictured below has been arrested by men of the Anambra state police command for allegedly attempting to kill a woman, Bella Joseph, and cutting off her breast on Wednesday, September 2.
Disclosing this to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, said Ogbonna took Bella to Dollar Inn motel in Ihite in Orumba South local government area to lodge. He said while they lodged in their hotel room, the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab Bella and was attempting to cut off her breast when her cry for help was heard by the motel manager who came to her rescue.
”Suspect allegedly attempted to murder the lady inside the motel room by stabbing victim with a knife on her stomach and tried to cut off her right side breast using the same knife probably for ritual purpose thinking she was dead before he was apprehended following her shout for help which attracted attention of the motel manager”
Haruna said police operatives attached to Umunze division were invited and they rushed the victim to a specialist hospital in Nnewi where she is being treated. He added that the suspect who was seriously manhandled by a mob and beaten to stupor was equally arrested by the police and taken to the hospital for treatment under police guard.
He said a blood-stained knife was recovered at the scene as an exhibit. Haruna said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal investigation department for discreet investigation in order to unravel the actual circumstances surrounding the incident.

Bright Osemudiamen Ezekiel will for a long time remain one of the most entertaining housemates to have made it to Nigeria’s most popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija.
Popularly called BrightO, he was evicted from the fifth season on Sunday, August 30, 2020. His eviction was met with mixed reactions as he was perceived as one of the viewers’ favourite.
I bumped into him at the reception of the venue where our interview took place and he was quick to say hello. Well, after short pleasantries, we sat down to talk about his stay in the house, all the famous aliases he coined for himself, relationship with Wathoni, and Praise.
The first question that usually comes to my mind every time a new reality TV star is born is how they handle their newfound fame?
“So far so good it has been fun. It feels so good, I’m not gonna lie. Before I went into the house, I had just over 300 followers on IG but, right I have over 200k followers. It’s so amazing, whenever I’m walking around, people are saying ‘BrightO…Lord Baelish’ so amazing,” he said.
BrightO says he was shocked when he got out of the house and realised that Nigerians had coined several names for him including, Lord Baelish, Pastor, Evangelist, Little Finger, and so on.

When most reality TV contestants go into Big Brother’s house, it is assumed that they go there with a strategy to become the fans’ favourite. I asked the marine engineer if he went into the house with any strategy in mind including that of the Lord Baelish character.
“I just went there to be myself. If you noticed the very first week, I was kind of quiet. That’s how I do my thing. When I get to a new environment, I try to study the environment and people and know how to relate to them. So that was it,” he said.
For a lot of people, the reason BrightO got evicted from Big Brother Naija was because of the question and answer session he had with the show’s presenter, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu a week before his eviction.

BrightO refused to disclose to Ebuka the conversation he had with Kiddwaya about Neo. For many, they were disappointed that he let down his alias, Lord Baelish when he chickened out of responding to the question.
“The truth is the way Ebuka threw the question at me, I was confused when he said I gossiped about Neo to Kiddwaya. I was surprised. I didn’t see it as gossip, I just said something to Kiddwaya,” he said.
“It wasn’t coming from a bad angle, it was actually from a good angle. I even walked up to Neo and we talked about it and he understood. I don’t think that’s the reason, I don’t think that’s the reason but if that’s the reason then…I don’t know.”

The reality TV star believes the reason he was evicted from the Big Brother house is that, the other housemates had fans who buckled up and voted immensely for them.
The last two weeks of his stay in the Big Brother house saw the Sailor turned reality TV star get cozy around two female housemates, Wathoni and Dorathy.
“The main thing is that I vibe a whole lot with Dorathy as she’s the funniest housemate in the Big Brother house. But with Wathoni, I spent the most time with her and we discussed a whole lot of things. I guess that’s why I was more close to Wathoni,” he said.
He plans to go into fashion and probably use his now-famous word ‘Apply Pressure’ as his fashion brand. [Instagram/TheBrightO]
We pried further by asking if he was attracted to Wathoni; “Of course she is a beautiful girl, she’s fine, she’s nice,” he said. He, however, intends to keep his special friendship with Wathoni.
One of the major highlights of BrightO’s stay in Biggie’s house was his famous conversation with Kiddwaya, where he revealed that Praise’s wife was almost 60 years old.
The reality TV star said the reason he told Kiddwaya about Praise’s wife was that he saw him as a bully and it was just a way to get back at him.
“I had that conversation with Praise and it was not just me. He was telling me and two other housemates about his fiancee. And he said something about his fiancee being way way older than him. He wasn’t specific about the age. I can’t remember him being specific about the age,” he said.
“When he said way way older and I guess he is 28 so I guess 60…50 and they fall in the same bracket as being way way older that was why I used that particular age. I didn’t say that just to trend or whatever, but I did that because of the way he used to act in the house to sometimes me and one other guy like that. I can consider that as bullying.”
“So that was why I made that statement that if I want to get to this guy, I known what to do. I was having, a normal one on one conversation with Kidd, and I was airing my emotions to him. I don’t have anything against Praise, it was just that bullying. He is my friend and we play a lot.”
BrightO says he will miss the Big Brother house a lot. He also hopes Kiddwaya emerges the winner of the show on the last day.
For the future, he would love to go into fashion and probably use his now-famous word ‘Apply Pressure’ as his fashion brand.

A man on Thursday August 3, staged a lone protest against the recent increase in fuel price and electricity tariffs in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The man was reportedly spotted opposite the University of Ibadan carrying a placard that read “I can’t take this anymore, increased petrol price and Electricity tariff”
A Twitter user, Boogyman (@Tobbsticks) , who witnessed the one-man protest wrote on Twitter:
“Saw this one-man Protest opposite the University of Ibadan. ” I can’t take this anymore, increased petrol price and Electricity tariff”
It will be recalled that barely two days after electricity tariff was increased by about 300 per cent, oil marketers on Wednesday August 2, fixed the pump price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol at N162 a litre.
An American mother of 15 children has revealed she is pregnant with her 16th child.
Patty Hernandez, 38, and her husband Carlos, 37, live with their gigantic family in North Carolina, and they gearing up to welcome their latest addition.
All 15 of her children have names beginning with “C” in honour of their father, Carlos, who is a floor cleaner.
Patty and Carlos have five boys and 10 girls, and six are sets of twins.
Carlos Jr, 12, Christopher, 11, Carla, nine, Caitlyn, nine, Cristian, eight, Celeste, seven, Cristina, six, Calvin, five, Catherine, five, Carol, four, Caleb, three, Caroline, three, Camilla, two, Charlie, one and Crystal, four months, will be joined by a baby girl due in May 2021.
Despite admitting that raising so many children can be stressful, the mother-of-15 is happy to have more kids.
She said: “It is a bit more stressful and difficult with a newborn. The babies are always crying and I have to take care of them. But it is a blessing, we enjoy it.
“We have left everything to God so whatever God wants to give us we will be happy.
“We don’t use contraception. It’s always crazy at our house.”
Patty who spent over a decade making babies after welcoming her first child in 2008, said: “I’m so happy when I’m pregnant.
“Around three months after I have a baby I usually get pregnant again.”
The proud mother added that having so many children creates a lot of housework but she is already training the older children about house chores.
“Right now I have a thousand clothes to wash – that’s at least five hours of folding clothes every two days.
“I do laundry at least four times a week. When the kids play, they often leave toys on the floor so I need to clean that up too.
“I try to give them a daily routine to clean up after themselves. They have their own chores.
“The older one makes his own pancakes sometimes, but most of the time I am the one doing the cooking.”
According to Patty and Carlos, they spend £375 a week on groceries and nappies and are currently shopping for a new vehicle as they have outgrown their 16-seater bus.
Two officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were caught on camera fighting passengers in a vehicle going from Ikeja to Obalende.
The LASTMA officials with badge name E. A. Fagbuyi and N. Oladega accosted the bus driver at Toll Gate (7up) bus-stop, along Berger road in the Lagos metropolis. They accused him of boycotting them since last week and demanded money for the supposed ‘offence’.
The bus conductor told a Premium Times correspondent in the vehicle that they were seeking N100 bribe, and things took a different turn after Fagbuyi took charge of the vehicle and began heading to an unknown location.
It was gathered that after the passengers protested, the heated argument which ensued degenerated into physical combat. During the fight, Mr Oladega assaulted one of the passengers identified as Sandra and also broke her phone screen.
The officials allegedly threatened to harm the lady for demanding that her phone be repaired. Sandra told the Premium Times reporter at the scene;
“I have been molested and I can’t take it. I was receiving when one of the officials came to drag my phone and threw it on the floor. He broke the screen already. These guys are thugs and should not be accommodated in Lagos.”
The Lagos state government has begun a clampdown on illegal abbatoirs in the state.
Earlier today September 3, men of the re-inaugurated Monitoring, Enforcement, and Compliance Team dislodged an illegal slaughter slab at Oke Rube, Ikotun, Alimosho Local government in furtherance of the sanitization of the red meat value chain.
The monitoring team seized a cow and butchered meat from the illegal slab and also arrested the operators of the illegal slab.
Speaking on the exercise, the state acting Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya,
“The dismantling of the abattoir is necessary because the state is concerned about the production of wholesome and healthy meat for the citizens as well as ensure that the streets are free of stray animals, which has lately become more rampant in the state.
We will also strictly enforce meat transportation, using only the designated vehicles and stray animals control”
The Commissioner added that the confiscated meat will be donated to charity while the live cows would be kept at the Oko-Oba abattoir, Agege to be claimed by their owners within 48 hours or they would also be donated to charity.
She added that the arrested butchers would be prosecuted at the Lagos State taskforce mobile court.
