REPORT OF THE VISUAL MEETING WITH HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR MBSE.
Dear Educators, below are the highlights of Our today's visual meeting with the state commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education  .

1) Tele-classes and e-learning: The commissioner advised that since not all learners are privileged to get this learning online or through television, a transistor radio should serve a worthwhile purpose.
He further encouraged that with good social distancing and face masked, a group of learners can receive classes from a transistor radio. And this must not be in the school premises to avoid abuse.

Schools adopting e-lessons are free to do so without  making it compulsory and  it must not be  used to teach the third term curriculum but purely for the purpose of refreshing the Learners memory .

2) Palliatives: The commissioner confirmed the letter written by NAPPS requesting for palliatives from Government.  He affirmed that the state government is not financially viable to give out palliatives to private schools in form of grants, rather, the government is currently seeking palliatives from donors . The 2020 budget is being reviewed downward due to drastic drop in the price of crude oil in the global market..
However,  The commissioner pointed out that arrangement is being made to see that all taxes and levies on private schools are being streamlined and to be  paid through MBSE to save private schools from embarrassments from other ministries , Departments and  Agencies  the truamer of multiple taxation.
He further added that by the time schools resume and private schools render free service to parents, then , the issue of a renewal licence fee holiday can be considered.

FRAUD ALART: FG TO SPEND 679M DAILY TO FEED SCHOOL CHILDREN DESPITE LOCK DOWN

Following the announcement that the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, will commence the Homegrown School Feeding Programme today, Thursday, May 14, 2020, in Abuja and subsequently, in Lagos and Ogun states, before the other states of the federation, in spite of the lockdown of schools to curtail the spread of coronavirus, an educationist, Chief Bolajoko Doherty (MFR), has joined other stakeholders to condemn the project as fraudulent and non-feasible.

Chief Doherty, the founder and proprietress of Bola Immaculate Group of Schools and President of Dynamic Women International Association, who had been in the business of school administration for over 35 years, said the insistence of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, to continue with the project is not only an embarrassment but fraudulent and impossible as the children that are meant to be the beneficiaries of the project are all in their parents’ homes.

Though the ministry claimed to have requested states to carry out mapping exercises in order to trace the households of the children using all available data sources including the School-Based Management Boards, community focal persons, cooks on the programme and most importantly existing school registers in the LGAs where the schools are domiciled, she said no principal can claim to know the houses of every pupil in his school.

“I kept quiet when the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs said she was giving food to schools before the lockdown; I made my enquiries in the South-West and I didn’t see any school, not even one school or one parent that confirmed that their children were given food. But this time around when I heard that she said they will continue with the Home Grown School Feeding project in schools during the lockdown, I was triggered. How can she say she will be giving school children food during this lockdown?

“I am calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the minister to order because as a school administrator, I find it strange that someone will say she wants to go and give food to children who are under lock and key in their parent’s house. I regard this as not only fraud or an embarrassment but also a disgrace to Nigerians and the nation as a whole as well as a slight on the intelligence of Nigerians and the international community. If she is doing it in her own state, it is pardonable but this is a national issue which will extend into an international affair, that is why we will not close our eyes or keep quiet about this,” she said.

She said the president needs to call the minister to order “so she can stop this game of fraud and international embarrassment to Nigeria as a whole. If you want to give the children food, you tell each school to get the name of parents and their wards with phone numbers, can she identify the homes of these children? Can any principal tell you categorically that she knows the homes and addresses of students in his school, these are little kids; do they have their identity? Which data is she working with?”

According to her, if the process is done the right way, they don’t have to distribute food because the money that will be spent on caterers and everyone involved in the process can be used for something else adding that, “if you want to help these children, let the school supply the data of the students and their parents; name, age, class, addresses of parents and bank accounts, send money to the parents to cater for their children as necessary.

“If they want to distribute food, there should be a food point. But at this period, no child can walk anywhere to take the food because they are home and schools are not open. So they should stop this idea that they are going to distribute food to pupils during lockdown because it is a disgrace and an embarrassment even to the president himself. In a country with highly educated people that is competing in the comity of nations, how can one woman just stand up and say you want to distribute food at this time, to which pupils? The one she said she did even when school was on was a fraud not to talk of when the children are still under lock and key, you cannot open schools, teachers have even been stopped from going to peoples’ homes for home lessons. Something must be done about this woman that wants to distribute food to pupils who are under lock and key

“Then how do you identify them? Can you even tell them to be brought to a place, how do you ensure they maintain social distancing? Enough is enough. President Buhari should do something with immediate effect to save the nation from this disgrace and fraud,” she said.

Speaking further on the almajirai scattered across the country, Chief Doherty said the government should adopt all children on the street as government children, adding that to put an end to this menace, parents of children found on the street must be penalised and made to face the law and such children taken away from them or given up for adoption.

“There must be a department for little children to oversee the welfare of children; governmen tot must see all children as the children of the government so that no parent will mess up with them. The president should take interest in the kids because they are the foundation of tomorrow,” she said.

NAFDAC has approved Madagascar’s initiative that ensured its herbal cure for the Coronavirus pandemic.

National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has approved Madagascar’s initiative that ensured its herbal cure for the Coronavirus pandemic.

This approval was made by the Director General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, today 14th May, 2020.

“We are proud of them (Madagascar). They appreciate what they have. We do not. She said.

“All the herbs they have and are using, we have them. But we do not use them the way they are doing.

“They appreciate their brains and use them. We must do same here if we want to develop as a nation,” she told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Thursday in Abuja.

She regretted that Nigeria had consistently depended on what others were bringing to it, and emphasised the need to look inward for solutions to our concerns.

Adeyeye said that the novel Coronavirus had jolted the country, and challenged those in authority to make the health sector a major priority.

“COVID-19 has slapped us in the face. It has kicked us back and front. We are now facing the stark realities of being insecure.

“There is drug insecurity, medical devices insecurity, test kits insecurity; we have always depended on other nations for everything.

“India, for instance, is not supplying medicals to us again because they are thinking about their own people.

“We have been using Dogonyaro (Neem tree) for ages. Some other African countries have developed their herbal remedies.

“Which one can we claim to have developed in Nigeria? What we are looking for in Madagascar, we may have it in our backyard,’’ the director general said.

(PTF) Presidential Task force on COVID-19 announced that they are not informed of the locations of the Chinese doctors

(PTF) Presidential Task force on COVID-19 announced that they are not informed of the locations of the Chinese doctors and health specialist who were imported into the the country few weeks ago to assist Nigeria in it's battle against coronavirus pandemic.

Dr Osgie Ehanire, the minister of Health disclosed this while speaking at the daily briefing of the PTF in Abuja.

Osage marveld why there are so much attention on the Chinese health specialist and told the Journalists not to ask him about their location again.

Much controversy have stalked the assertion of the Federal Government on enabling the importation of the Chinese health professionals as different group and association, comprising National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) and Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) who had earlier opposed their importation.

Dr Osgie Ehanire, disclosed that the ministry of health was not their host, and do not know their locations because they are not truly our guests.

The minister of health further said, about the Chinese doctors. I guess not all of them are doctors, some of them are technicians but they are staff of CCECC. The ministry of health is not their host, so we can't always clarify what happens to them or there whereabout.

According to Nigerian tribune correspondents, Dr Osgie Ehanire, appears not to be interested in these doctors but they Are staff of A company and I think they are on the company Visa, so I will be pleased if you don't inquire about where they are because they are not truly our visitors.

Osage However said, they were able to understand many things concerning Coronavirus pandemic from the Chinese health specialist, through interaction based on their experience.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Flamengo midfielder Gerson.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Flamengo midfielder Gerson.
According to the player’s father, Marcos Santos, the Gunners are desperate to sign the midfielder this summer. Santos told Canal do Nicola that Arsenal’s Director of Football, Raul Sanllehi, is the driving force behind the club’s bid to sign the 22-year-old.“Nobody knew about (the interest of) Arsenal, but now that I’m telling you, everyone will know,” said Santos. He went on to confirm Sanllehi’s involvement, adding that he tried to sign Gerson during his time at Barcelona. Gerson played a key role as Flamengo won the league title in Brazil and the Copa Libertadores during 2019.He has previously been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but Arsenal appear to have stolen a march on their North London rivals.Arsenal desperately need to strengthen their midfield and Gerson appears to fit the bill in that respect.Gerson’s ball-winning ability looks ideally suited to the Premier League and he would undoubtedly be a positive acquistion for the Gunners.

COVID-19: Oyedepo The Business Pastor, Who is Putting Pressure on the FG to Open Church

I think Bishop David Oyedepo has forgotten the book of Romans 13:1-3 About the superiority of the government.

If Bishop David Oyedepo cannot support Government's measures to tackle Covid 19, I think he should now just simply shut up.

The question is "What does he mean by his statement that churches are the target of government measures?"

"Are schools, sports and airports targeted too? Even government employees from grade level 1 to 12 have been ordered to stay at home. Like churches, these have not permitted to reopen"

That statement is reckless and irresponsible. And it simply shows that he doesn't care one bit about the health and safety of members of his church.

I think he is now taking the respect people have for him for granted, and it is about time Government tamed his excesses.

God is in everyone and everywhere too. Must we worship God only through by going to church? Tell me, what's government plans for the mosques that are under lock and key? Oh! Yeah! It is not a commercial centre as the church?.

PDP Commiserate with the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde on the Death of Hon. Kehinde Ayoola.

Press Released by the state ruling party Yesterday 14/05/2020 and Signed by Engr Akeem Olatunji the Publicity Secretary of Oyo State PDP

Rt Honourable Kehinde Ayoola's Death, Shocking, Sad, One Loss Too Many

The Oyo state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received with a very rude shock the unfortunate news of late Commissioner For Environment And Natural Resources, Rt Hon Kehinde Ayoola who could be described as a gallant soldier, a dedicated and loyal party faithful, and a humane fellow to all that encountered him while he was alive.

Just when the PDP family in Oyo state was trying hard to get over the demise of late Chief Richard Akinjide at a ripe old age, who was one of the party's founders and a foremost legal luminary in Nigeria,  death struck again taking away one of the finest politician the state has produced.

We as a political party are in deep sober and mourning mood because late Hon Ayoola left us when his wealth of experience and versatility are greatly needed as the Governor continues to chart a new course for the state economic growth and development within the ambient of very scarce resources.

The intelligence and intellectual prowess of late Hon Ayoola led to his emergence as the first Speaker of Oyo state House of Assembly after the return of democracy to Nigeria in 1999.

He continued to fill one exalted public and party office within and outside the state including working with Engr Seyi Makinde as the Deputy Director General Seyi Makinde Campaign Organization prior to the 2019 governorship election in the state.

Late Kehinde Ayoola was always keenly interested in the development and progress of Oyo state without prejudice or discrimination of any kind.

He was always calm, friendly, and a good listener which are parts of the qualities that endeared him to so many politicians across party lines.

We are deeply sad and words could never be able to express the pain PDP family is going through across the length and breadth of Oyo state because his skills and qualities will be sorely missed forever, obviously his death justifies a philosophical saying that the wealthiest place on earth is the graveyard.

The entire PDP family in Oyo state deeply commiserate with the family of late Rt Honourable Kehinde Ayoola, his lovely and supportive wife and children, and we pray that God in His infinite mercies grant them fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

PDP as the ruling party particularly commiserate with the executive governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde, we believe that the Lord will strengthen him and grant him the willpower to manage the emotional pain the demise of his loyal and dedicated friend has brought upon us.

Ondo uncovers N4.3bn kept in secret account for 10 years

N4.3bn which was kept in a secret account for more than 10 years has been uncovered by the Ondo state government.
Ondo Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo confirmed this in a statement released on Thursday, May 14.
He said the money which was uncovered due to the discrete financial intelligence of the Commissioner for Finance Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, was lodged in a third-generation bank without due process for over 10 years ago.
Ojogo said;
“We recall that at inception of this administration, concerted efforts were made to take a comprehensive inventory of all assets and liabilities of Government which include liquidity status.
“This exercise, modestly conducted without the usual noise, was aimed at avoiding sensationalization and needless acrimony. In this regard, all development partners of the Government, including Banks rendered highly commendable forms of assistance.
“It should be noted that neither the Finance Commissioner nor the Accountant-General was in his present position as at when the said account was opened more than ten years ago.
“The invitation of the Finance Commissioner by the House of Assembly and indeed, same extended to both the State Accountant-General and the Auditor-General are in line with Government’s desire to make as transparent as possible, the management of our commonwealth in Ondo State.”
The Commissioner for Finance Mr. Wale Akinterinwa who also confirmed this while appearing before lawmakers said the money has been ploughed into the revenue account of government. He also denied claims of a consultant being hired in the course of retrieving the N4.3bn.
