COVID-19: Police postpone academy selection exams

The Nigeria Police are saying they have postponed their planned 8th Regular Course of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil-Kano, selection examination till further notice.

The Police command in Enugu State said this in a statement signed by its Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, in Enugu on Wednesday.

Ndukwe said that the postponed selection examination was earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, Aug. 8

“The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform residents, particularly those who applied for admission into the 8th Regular Course of Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil-Kano, that the selection examination has been postponed till further notice.

“The postponement is in view of the COVID-19 pandemic constraints, re-scheduled WAEC/NECO and NABTEB Examinations as well as the academy’s preparation for the conduct of Computer-Based Test (CBT) exams.

“A new date will be communicated in due course.

“While candidates are warned to be wary of scammers who may want to defraud them under the guise of facilitating their admission into the Academy,’’ he said. (NAN)

The Nigerian Police Force have started the process of recruiting qualified Nigerians for the constable cadre.

The Police announced that the online application would be opened for a period of 6 weeks, from the 14th of July to the 23rd of August, 2020.

The first requirement, according to DCP Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer, is that applicants must have passion for a career in the Nigeria Police Force.

Below are other requirements you need to meet to qualify for the position:

Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth and possess National Identity Number (NIN).
Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB with credit passes in English and Mathematics.
Applicants must be aged between 17-25 years.
Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must not be less than 1.67m tall for male and 1.64m tall for female.
Applicants must not have less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for men only).
Female Applicants must not be pregnant at the time of Recruitment.
Applicants must be free from any pecuniary embarrassment.
Applicants must print their completed online forms, guarantor forms and submit same at the examination/screening and recruitment centres.
Candidate who is suffering from any one of the underlisted abnormalities or deformities shall not be accepted for enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force: Impediment in speech, gross malformation of teeth or jaw, knock knees, bow legs, bent knees, deformed hands, defective eyesight or squints eyes, amputation of any part of the body.

Procedures for the recruitment of Police Constables

The Nigerian Police Force have started the process of recruiting qualified Nigerians for the constable cadre.

 1. You must have a functional email address and National Identification Number (NIN) before you begin your application.
 2. Visit www.policerecruitment.gov.ng 3. Fill and submit the online form. (Review the information before final submission). 
 4. Ensure that you print the information that is sent automatically to your email, and do not forget to copy and save your registration number for future correspondences. The number is case sensitive. 
5. You would be required to present a hardcopy of email message sent to you if you are shortlisted and contacted for the next stage of recruitment process. 
6. Note that no email and/or NIN can be used more than once in this application. 
7. Applicants with multiple applications would be disqualified.

Oyo begins recruitment for Amotekun

Security operatives under the newly established Western Nigeria Security Network (AMOTEKUN), during the official launch by some state governors of the South-West at the Oyo State Governor’s Office in Ibadan.

The Oyo State Government has commenced recruitment into the southwest security network codenamed, Amotekun.

The security outfit, which was officially launched by Governors of the South-West geo-political zone in January 9, this year, was designed to network all the security agencies in the region.

The registration is opened online but the Civil Service Commission in the state has not given details on the deadline for the application and the number of persons that will be recruited into the special security outfit.

Information obtained from the official website of the security outfit indicates that the programme is being chaired in the state by a former Director of Military Intelligence and former Deputy Director-General of the State Security Service, Gen Ajibola Toogun(retd).

It also has as commandant, a former Assistant Director, British Military Advisory Training Team, Defence Headquarters, Abuja, Col Olayanju Olayinka (retd).

Guidelines

Applicants are to print out the underlisted documents after completion of the online application:

Qualifications

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
Applicants must not be less than 1.66m tall for male and not less than 1.63m tall for female.

Non Tradesmen/Women

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years by 30 June 2021.

Tradesmen/Women

Applicants applying as tradesmen and women must be between 18 and 25 years of age except for those applying as assistant chaplains/ imams and drivers who must be between 18 and 28 years.
Applicants must possess at least a lower credit in ND/NCE or any relevant trade certificates from reputable and approved Government institutions/organisations, with a minimum of 2 passes and a credit in English in not more than 2 sittings in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB.
Applicants applying as drivers must posses a minimum of 2 passes in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB, with a credit in English and trade test certificate.
Applicants applying as sportsmen/women are to present evidence of their professional experience which should include certificates and medals.

Police Commence Recruitment Exercise, Calls For Applications [Portal Opens 14th July 2020]

The Nigerian Police Force has commenced recruitment exercise for new constables.

This was revealed this morning by Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba.

He said that, qualified and suitable candidates who feels fitted for the job can apply, those that there ages are within the range of 17 and 25 are eligible to apply.


Mba equally asserted that, such applicabts must have gotten five credits, Mathematics and English inclusive from West African Examination Council, WEAC, General Certificate of Examination, GCE, or National Examination Council, NECO.

The recruitment will be done online through www.policerecruitment.gov. ng, beginning from July 14 to August 25.

"The names of the successful applicants will be published in national dailies on 14th of September 2020. It will be published on other platforms as well." Mba asserted.
